Community Development Block Grant Program
Capital Improvements Projects – Status as of June 1, 2009
The City of Farmington Hills receives Community Development
Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U. S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development. CDBG funds are used to benefit low and/or
moderate income households or areas as defined by the U. S.
Census. The following is a list of the current (CDBG) capital
improvements.
Thirteen Mile Road Sidewalk (FY2007 - $177,500.00)
The project proposes the installation of 2600 lineal feet of
sidewalk on the north side of Thirteen Mile Road between
Middlebelt and the Detroit Baptist Manor. The project is under
contract with construction scheduled for the spring of 2009.
Middlebelt Sidewalk (FY 2008 - $66,000.00)
The project proposes the installation of 800 lineal feet of
sidewalk on the east side of Middlebelt Road between Eldon and
San Souci. The project is under contract with construction
scheduled for the summer of 2009.
Other Community Development Programs
Community Development Block Grant – Recovery (CDBG-R)
The City of Farmington Hills will receive $100,169.00 in
CDBG-R funds. The funds are proposed for Housing Rehabilitation
Program activities.
Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP)
The City of Farmington Hills will receive $1.3 million in NSP
funds from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority
(MSHDA). The NSP Program will address vacant and foreclosed
properties in Farmington Hills.
