Winter Adult and Youth Art Classes

The City of Farmington Hills Cultural Arts Division is pleased to offer an array of day and evening visual arts classes for youth and adults at the Heritage Park Stable Art Studio and Longacre House, located at 24915 Farmington Road.  The winter term of adult art classes and workshops begins the week of January 15, 2018.

All classes welcome beginner or advanced students as small classes can accommodate one-on-one instruction as well as group demonstrations.  Offerings include three to six-week classes as well as one-day workshops.  Adult art classes include Oil Painting, Acrylic Painting, Watercolor Painting, Basic Drawing, Pastels, Ceramics, Digital Photography, and Photoshop.  The Cultural Arts Division is also hosting one-day adult workshops in Colored Pencil Techniques with Dean Rogers and Hand Lettering with Jenny Rhode.  Back by popular demand is the short three-week Art Class Sampler, which is perfect for anyone who wishes to explore a variety of media.  Students will have the opportunity to work in clay, drawing, and watercolor over three classes.

Youth art classes are offered on weekday evenings, one Friday night per month, and on weekends.  Classes are available for a range of ages from three to 18.  Weeknight classes include Ceramics for Youth and Youth Drawing.  Little DaVincis art class is a parent/child class for three to five-year-olds on Saturday mornings.  A Teen Screen-Printing Workshop is being offered on Sunday, February 11 with Goods Detroit owner Karry Brook.  In lieu of a babysitter, enroll kids ages six to 12 in the Parents’ Night Out workshops where they will be engaged in fun and creative projects.
