Police Department Promotion February 14, 2018
The Farmington Hills Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of Officer Eric Buckberry to the rank of Sergeant in the Operations Bureau. Sergeant Buckberry is a 26-year veteran of the Department.
Sergeant Buckberry began his career in 1991 as a Police Cadet and was promoted to Police Officer and now Sergeant. His past assignments include Patrol Officer, Detective, U.S. Customs Task Force Officer, Directed Patrol Unit Officer, and Narcotics Investigator with the Oakland County Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET). Sergeant Buckberry has also served in the role of Department Instructor as a Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, Tactical Rifle Instructor, and Krav Maga Instructor (self-defense and fitness training).
Sergeant Buckberry has an Associate’s Degree from Schoolcraft College and is the recipient of over 45 citations and awards. The awards include the 2000 City of Farmington Hills Police Officer of the Year, the 2013 American Legion Police Officer of the Year, and the Police Officers Association of Michigan 2013 Distinguished Service Award.
