Kids’ Evening Art Classes Give Parents A Night Out

Need a date night?  Instead of getting the babysitter for a Friday event, enroll your children in “Parents’ Night Out” Art Classes.

The City of Farmington Hills Cultural Arts Division is offering a monthly series of youth art classes at the Heritage Park Stables Art Studio located at 24915 Farmington Road in Farmington Hills.  Kids ages 6 to 12 can dress for a mess and will be safe and productive from 6 to 9 p.m.  The fee is $25 for residents and $35 for non-residents.  Instructor Jenifer Garrison from the Detroit Institute of Arts will offer themed art activities:

October 20             Ghosts and Goblins
November 17          Making Music with Art
December 15          Get Your Game On (video game inspired)

Meanwhile, for adults who also want to get creative on October 20, A Night with Zombies is a 21+ event where guests will be guided in a watercolor project where they are creators of their own quirky and creepy zombies.  Light appetizers and a cash bar will be provided for a spooky good time.  Instructor Molly McNeece is the illustrator and co-author of the children’s book Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse.  This workshop pairs nicely with the Parents’ Night Out kids’ workshop at the adjacent Stables Art Studio.  The fee is $50 for residents and $60 for non-residents.
