The Farmington Hills Youth Theatre offers exciting, fulfilling theater experiences for children and youth, with two full productions a year, as well as acting classes and camps.
The Farmington Hills Youth Theatre is proud to serve our community’s needs with a program that encourages both beginners as well as seasoned actors to develop the life-long skills that build self esteem, confidence, and the ability to work with others. You need not be a resident of Farmington Hills to participate – come join the fun!
Save the date… The Farmington Hills Youth Theatre is pleased to announce audition dates for ANNA PAINTS TREES. Open auditions for Anna Paints Trees will take place Saturday, September 29 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at the Costick Center, 28600 W. Eleven Mile Road in Farmington Hills.
The Farmington Hills Youth Theatre welcomes and encourages both newcomers and experienced actors (Grades 7-12) to audition for this production. Auditions are open to both residents and non-residents of Farmington Hill, and participants may drop in any time during the designated audition hours. The process is easy and friendly, and no prior preparation is necessary. Audition materials will be made available online at least two weeks prior to auditions.
Anna Paints Trees was written by teen participants of the Farmington Hills Youth Theatre's 2018 Young Playwrights program with guidance from award-wining playwright and published author, Stephen Mack Jones; and actor and director, Ethan Kankula. Anna Paints Trees introduces us to teen realities as they relate to peer relationships, milestones in maturity, identity and more. Written by Meghan Allen, Hank Burns-Pavlik, Kacey Craig, Phillip Drum, Kenya Foster, Gracy Hershey, Jayla McCain, and Griffin Wick.

And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero... and his name is Shrek.
