How do I join the Farmington Hills Dog Park?

Step 1 - Watch the mandatory orientation session. The orientation session can be found online, a DVD copy is available to check out at the Costick Center, or it can be viewed in the computer lab in the Costick Center’s Conway Hall. The orientation session will review the park rules, the responsibilities of the user, behaviors you may observe in your dog while at the dog park, and the process for obtaining a fob and tag. Step 3 - Registration can be completed by mail or in person at the Costick Activities Center, 28600 W. 11 Mile Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48336. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Wednesdays 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM. To register you will need the following: application & waiver, proof of Farmington or Farmington Hills residency, proof of current vaccinations - Rabies, DHLPP and Bordatella, copy of current Oakland County dog license, and payment. Payment may be made by check, cash, or credit card (MC/Visa). Once completed, you will be issued a key fob and dog tag that will allow you and your dog access to the park.

Dog License Information

Licenses are required for all dogs four months of age or older. Dog licenses may be purchased at the Treasury Division with proof of rabies vaccination. From January 1 through June 1, the cost is $7.50 for spayed/neutered dogs ($6.75 if the owner is age 65 or older); $15 for male/female dogs ($13.50 if the owner is age 65 or older). After June 1, the license is considered delinquent and the cost is $30 for all dogs. New animals over four months of age may be licensed at non-delinquent rates if the license is purchased within 30 days of acquisition. Farmington Hills and Farmington residents only.

  • Replacement key fob $10

Fee is waived for Certified Service Dogs.
